Now that Ford is older this year, we wanted to start doing fun things around the holidays for him. This year we went on the Polar Bear Express with our friends Laura, Matt, and Madelyn. Ford loves transportation — cars, trucks, trains, planes — so we thought he would be really excited to ride on the train. I think he did like it because as we were leaving in the car he kept saying "Bye bye choo choo," but while we were on the train he was pretty quiet and observant. He didn't say much, didn't do much, and generally looked confused. But at least there was no crying, screaming, or tantrums....so I was happy.

Ford even met Santa for the first time, which went better than expected. We've been talking about Santa and showing him pictures, in the hope that when he came face to face with the big man in the red suit, he wouldn't be scared. He looked a little nervous about Santa, but he gave him a high five and was okay with getting his picture taken (with Daddy holding him). All in all, a successful trip!

  1. Looks like a fun trip. Ford looked like he was not real sure about ridding without a car seat or a seat belt but he was holding on in every picture. Good pictures and good looking Santa. Daddy/Granddaddy 'D'
