My BFF Lindsay and I traveled to Murray last weekend for a mini-reunion with old high school friends. Our 10-year reunion is coming up in September, and our good friends Meg and Caroline won't be able to make it. A little background: Meg has been living in China the last three years and Caroline is moving to Hawaii soon with her husband and daughters. So, we decided to have a mini-reunion and catch up after 10 long (and very busy) years. It was, literally, a blast from the past. My girls from school days were the best group of friends I've ever had, and some of the best people I know. I learned something that weekend – true friendships never change. I admit I was nervous to see them again after all these years, but when we were together it was like nothing had changed and not a day had passed us by.

There was another big event that weekend: Lindsay's first baby shower! She and Russell are expecting a boy this October. I can't wait to get my hands on him, but first, he needs his Aunt Dana to buy him lots of stuff. And that's exactly what I did. :)

Long time no....write. I keep apologizing for not keeping up with the blog. And I keep making promises about doing better. Then before I know it, one month, two months have gone by without a typed word from me. I'd like to say I've been so busy flitting around like a social butterfly that I haven't had time to write all about it on the blog. The truth is, I've just been neglectful. Work is keeping me busy, and even though I don't have classes to occupy my free time anymore, when I get home the last thing I want to do is power up the computer.

So, what have we been up to the last few weeks? Well, we spent the July 4th weekend with family and friends. David invited some guys over to watch the World Cup, an event that quickly turned into an impromptu 13-hour beer fest. And who doesn't love a good day-long beer fest? Dave and Connie came down from Wisconsin to spend the long weekend with us. Boy were they in for a surprise when they walked through the front door to a houseful of boys and beer cans. ;)

David grillin' some brats

Da boys watching soccer.

Nothing says "good party" like an overflowing Hefty bag. ;)

Russell broke our chair! Okay, the seat may have already been torn when he sat down in it, but that didn't diminish the hilarity of the situation.

Chase konked out early.
