I've been neglecting the blog lately due to 1) school, 2) work, and 3) sheer laziness. But this past weekend was an event that cannot be neglected. The Stelsels and Kassenbrocks FINALLY witnessed the marriage of Kirk and Laura......and we couldn't be happier.
The wedding was fabulous. From the beautiful ceremony to the crowded dance floor, the entire night was magical. Maybe I'm a little bias, but I thought it was one of the best weddings I've ever attended. :)
Surprisingly enough, I didn't cry. I came very close when Kirk and his groomsmen came out to stand at the front of the church for the processional. I teared up quite a bit, but I managed to keep everything under control.
I was honored to be asked by Kirk and Laura to do a reading during the ceremony, which I pulled off with flying colors (if I do say so myself). Again, I thought I might cry through the whole thing based on my record for public speaking engagements at weddings. But I didn't cry, I didn't trip up the stairs, and my tongue didn't get tied around the word
Colossians.
Congratulations, Kirk and Laura! We love you!
By the way, Chase was peeved he couldn't be at the wedding. But after some salmon treats and a belly rub, he got over it. ;)
