Time Flies When You're Having Fun

I can't believe it's been a month since my last post. Sorry! There's probably so much to tell, and I know I won't remember it all, but I'll do my best.

Working Woman
I started my new job as the communications specialist at a company on July 1. And I love it, love it, love it! The work is so much more fulfilling than my last job. I spend my days writing press releases for branches across the country and feature stories for the employee Intranet. I'm busy, which I really like. And the people I work with are just amazing. From day 1 they made me feel so welcome. There are about 20 people in the marketing department, and I've already made some fast friends. Things are just really good, and I'm just so happy and thankful to be where I'm at.

It's official! The name plate makes it so.


Family Visit
A few weekends ago we had a visit from my sister Jennifer and her husband and the kids. David and I were on babysitting duty while Jennifer and Justin went to a concert. It was great to spend time with everyone, but especially Jackson and Cooper. I admit I was nervous to watch them, but they were perfect angels. It was exhausting trying to keep up with though. David and I (and Chase) had a good long nap right after they left. Jennifer's friend Mel and her daughter came over for lunch on Saturday (thanks again, Jen, for making enough food to feed us for a week!). After lunch the kids had a lot of fun playing Guitar Hero on the Wii. Later we made cookies (if you count putting premade cookie dough in the oven making cookies), watched Monsters Inc. for the second time, and played games.

Weddings Galore
We've already had two weddings since my last post. The first was my cousin's wedding in Illinois. It was great to spend the night and next morning with my family, including my parents, aunt and uncle, and two cousins. It went by way too fast though!

Two weekends later we went up to Wisconsin with Kirk and Laura. There was no lack of attention for Chase, and no lack of food for the rest of us. Connie outdid herself once again. We all went to a wedding on Saturday in Milwaukee. We had a good time but mostly because we got to spend a lot of quality time as a family. I guess the next wedding we'll all be at will be Kirk and Laura's! Woo hoo!
