The showers (baby showers, that is) have slowly moved down from Wisconsin and hit Indy on Saturday. Lindsay and Laura hosted a FABULOUS shower for me and Bubba with our Butler friends. My mom and oldest sister came down, too, which was a great treat and made the celebration even more special. Bubba got lots of good stuff, everything from bottles and blankets to toys and clothes. The best part, though, was all the books!! Every guest gave us a book (or books!) to start Bubba's library. We hope he'll take after his parents and love to read as much as we do. In the meantime, though, he'll have a nice little stash of books that David and I will read to him often. I think we have enough variety to read him a different book each night for at least three weeks! :)

Thank you to everyone who celebrated with me over the weekend, and to those who sent gifts in their absence. I was overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of our friends, family, family friends, the list goes on. I can't thank you enough.

And a BIG thanks to Lindsay and Laura (my "other" sisters) for throwing this party for us. You girls mean the world to me!! mwah!

The crew: Susan S., Ashley, Jen, Emily D., Laura, Holly and baby Mckinley, Lindsay and baby Corwin, me, Emily M., and Jennifer (not pictured: mom, Sarah L., and Susan B.)

The hostesses with the mostest: Laura, me, and Lindsay

Family! Jennifer, me, and Mom

Too many pregnant girls in one room? In order based on due dates: me, Ashley, Emily M., and Jen

Presents for Bubba!! His first soccer ball.

Books, books, and more books.

Connie's book that she gave to Bubba was one of Dave's baby books. Made me cry when I opened it.

Cute monkey onesies from Aunt Jennifer.

And of course Nonna had to have something special from her.

Let's sail away to the Land of Nod on Bubba's new bedding.

A special gift from my third mom, Beverly. She handsewed a blanket for Bubba that matches his bedding. The perfect keepsake that we can cherish forever.

  2. I am so happy that you got enough books that you can read a different one to him for 3 weeks, well guess what it doesn't usually work that way. He will get one he really likes and you will be able to read it to him 2 or 3 times a night for 2 or 3 weeks at a time if you are luck, or it might be longer. Enjoy Bubba and books and however he wants to read them. Love the photo's, looks like you have a lot of good friends looking after you.
