We just had a FANTASTIC weekend with Jennifer, Mom, and the boys. I had been looking forward to this weekend alllllll summer. The purpose of the visit was to surprise the boys with tickets to the Packers game (Jackson's favorite NFL team). He plays lineman in little league football, so Clay Matthews is his sports idol. Cooper started playing football this year as a running back (?) because he's super fast. So his favorite player is Randall Cobb (who happens to be one of my favorites this year, too, because he's on my Fantasy team). Anyway, the boys had no idea about the football game, so we made sure to occupy the weekend with other fun things.

First stop was Conner Prairie, an interactive living history park.

All dressed up to go back in time

Time for school (in the 1800s)

Ready for a wagon ride

Members of the Delaware Tribe from Oklahoma taught us some dances and other things from their tribal culture.

Couldn't miss the hot air balloon ride

Waiting to go up, up, up

Jennifer and the boys at the Lenape Indian camp

Friendly donkey on the farm

Crossing the covered bridge from Civil War days

Learning how to throw a tomahawk

After a long (and cold) day at Conner Prairie, it was nice to relax at home. We played some Wii (Mom tried to play Madden Football with Jackson, but it didn't turn out so well). We even played Twister (!!), but no pictures allowed. haha
Story time with Nonna. Well, actually, Cooper read all the stories.

What? Is there something on my face?

Hoodie gang

Playtime

Yes, Mom and I put on the same outfit without realizing it. D'oh.

After a restless night (at least for Mom and I -- we were too excited to sleep!), we couldn't wait to tell the boys they were going to the Packers game. It just so happened that the day before, Jackson had asked about seeing Lucas Oil Stadium. So Mom started the conversation by asking Jackson if he'd like to see the stadium. Of course he was thrilled at the opportunity just to do that. Then she said, "Unfortunately, there's a game today, so the only way we can see the stadium is to buy tickets." Here's what happened next:

So we all suited up in our gear to head downtown. Well, David, Jennifer and Ford stayed home to watch it on TV.

Although the Packers lost, we had a GREAT time. It was an exciting game, and so fun to watch the boys get into it. We arrived at the stadium early so we could go down to the front during warm-ups, which was pretty exciting. We only got to see a few players before getting kicked out of the front row section, but it was still neat to be so close.

Watching Clay Matthews warm up

Crosby kicking some field goals

Getting ready for a GB touchdown!

One of the best weekends I've had all year!! Thank you, Jennifer, Jackson, Cooper, and Mom for the memorable visit!
