Last Halloween, we were a big hit at our friend's party when we showed up as Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love. So the pressure was on this year to turn around another good costume. Unfortunately, we waited until the night before the Halloween party to put our costume together, so the end result didn't have nearly the same effect as last year's costume. But, hey, you can't blow them away every year, right?

This year we went as sweethearts Zack Morris and Kelly Kapowski from Saved by the Bell. Do you see the resemblance? :)

Last weekend we took a long overdue mini vacation to Chicago. We stayed in an awesome hotel just a few blocks from the Magnificent Mile. We spent Friday doing all the artsy things I love to do. We spent the day at the Shedd Aquarium and the Field Museum. Then that night we saw Billy Elliott: The Musical, with music by John Elton. We spent the next day window shopping along the Magnificent Mile and watching college football. It was a great relaxing long weekend, just what we needed to fuel up before the busy holidays.

Checking out the view from our ultra cool room.

Sorry there aren't more pictures! This doesn't nearly portray how much fun we had on our getaway. You'll just have to take my word for it. :)  I'll try to do better in the coming months as we celebrate the holidays with our families. Check back soon!
