No, we haven't been sitting at home idle for the last few months. I just haven't kept up on my duties as bloggess extraordinaire. So here’s what we’ve been up to since March:

G&B Celebrate 65 Years of Marriage
David, Kirk, and I flew to Florida to surprise Gigi and Boppa for their 65th wedding anniversary in early March. Dave and Connie went down for the trip as well. When we showed up on their doorstep, boy, they were in shock! We all got a good laugh about it all weekend. They had a small party at their house with some of their neighbor friends. The weather was great all weekend, and it was good to get away from Indy for a while to spend time with family.

An inspiration of love and marriage

Uh oh. Looks like trouble. This is how they party in The Villages.

Yep, trouble indeed.

Butler Heads to NCAA Championship
March Madness was quite exciting for us this year with Butler making it to the championship game. I can’t even begin to tell you how crazy it was around here. David went to the Final Four game with a fraternity brother. Then we went together to the final game. Downtown was complete mayhem. What a whirlwind for us to see our small alma mater that no one had heard of suddenly become the talk of sports fans around the country. Never been more proud to be a bulldog.

Dana Becomes a Master
I finally graduated with my MBA! Woo hoo! It’s been a long three years, and I’m relieved to be done with it. More than anything, though, I’m proud of myself for completing it. It was, at times, a hard road. I couldn’t have done it without the support (and financial intellect) of David, and the support from all my family and friends. Thank you!

Connie had a little party for me when they were here for Kirk and Laura's wedding.

The paper makes it official!

David Goes to Canada
David went to Canada for the first week in May to attend classes in preparation for the next CFA exam. He takes his level 2 exam on June 5. He’s feeling much more confident in his abilities after returning from his trip. He’s killing the practice exams, so I have complete faith that he will pass this test. Keep him in your prayers on June 5!

A Dog’s World
Nothing new to report on Chase. He has been very good about getting his allergy shots, and he’s slowly getting better. Chase and I went to Kentucky for a long weekend while David was in Canada. He loved the attention from Nanna and Granddaddy, but he was quite exhausted when we returned home.

Chase played nurse when I was sick one weekend.

Lazy dog

I don't know how that frisbee got around his waist. He's magic! Maybe he's trying out for a role as Saturn in the next "Universe" series on The History Channel.

  2. So happy to see the ink flowing again because I have missed it. I know you are very proud of yourself and the MBA and so am I. I am also proud of David and his recent studing adventures (it worked out where you could come see me and Mon). "Chase the wonder dog". I'm always wondering what he is going to be into next. Keep updating you blog, I love to read it.
    Love u

  3. Hey Dana!! I was so excited when I saw your comment! I'm glad I found your blog too. It's been great looking at it and catching up on your life. Sounds like yall are doing great. I miss you so much and am really excited to see everyone at the reunion. I was talking to my mom the other day and she suggested that we do something just us girls (and our families) at some point during the weekend. What do you think? Email me if you get a chance: jessieradke@hotmail.com. Yes, I'm too lazy to change my email! Hope to hear from you soon!
